Acetominophine Alert!

January 17, 2011

This “prescription” product is deadly, says FDA–but that’s only half the story
Acetaminophen can destroy your liver, and your life. That’s a fact.

And now the FDA has decided to address a very small part of the problem: prescription acetaminophen products. As of Now the maximum dosage unit of prescription acetaminophen is limited to 325 mg, and that will come along with a ‘severe liver failure’ boxed warning.

But what about the hundreds of over-the-counter products out there? Like Extra Strength Tylenol, which contains 500 mg of acetaminophen per tablet, and the recommended dose is two tablets. And if you mix that with something like Nyquil Cold & Flu caplets (which also contains acetaminophen), your liver may be in serious danger.
